Why Do New Divers Make The PADI Divermaster So Special!
Why new divers make such a big difference. As dive professionals we love to teach. So, it’s important that people enjoy their first experience of the underwater world and want to discover more. Going from PADI Scuba diver to PADI Open water, on to PADI Advanced Open Water, Rescue and then on to become a PADI Divemaster.
That’s why at The Waterhoppers PADI Divematers are such an important and valued member of the Dive Team. We love to take new divers all the way from their first open water breathes, through to become a PADI Divemaster (or PADI Instructor!)
Why We Find Such Value In Training PADI Divemasters
“If I do a job in 30 minutes, it’s because I spent 10 years learning how to do that in 30 minutes.” producer Davy Greenberg once tweeted.
When we train all our students, we give them the benefit of all our years of experience. This means any course, including the PADI divemaster course beyond just the cost of time and materials. It includes all the years spent in mastering the skill needed not just to be a professional diver, but the skills needed to make sure every student become the best they can be.
For us this is where we find the value, making each and every one of our students a capable diver. This includes becoming a PADI Divemaster, you will see, learn and experience so much becoming a PADI Divemaster with The Waterhoppers, giving you the confidence to DM anywhere in any condition.

But these are different challenges than you encounter in any other class, which makes them refreshing instead of routine. Plus, you have the added satisfaction of leaving your mark on the industry’s future.
The divemaster course also lends itself well to team teaching. Team teaching offers many benefits to you the candidate, including different teaching approaches, teaching styles and personalities.
Can I be Divemaster?
Yes, you can! PADI Divemaster candidates come from all levels of diver training, including Open Water Divers. Many dive professionals became aware of the amazing diving opportunities you have as a PADI Dive master while learning to dive.
Don’t worry if you have already completed some continuing education training. As an Advanced Open Water Diver or Rescue Diver you understand the value of your continued training, plus you are closer to meeting the PADI Divemaster course prerequisites.
Who Makes a Strong Candidate
Certification level and technical knowledge are less important when signing up for your divemaster courses. We can help you with any caps in knowledge and skill can be filled with training, but what we cannot teach is attitude.
How do you know if you exhibit the right attitude regardless of your level of training. If you can answer yes to the statements below you have the makings of a dive professional:
• Do you prioritise safety on every dive.
• Are you helpful at the dive site.
• Are you an excellent buddy before, during, and after the dive.
• Are you conscious of their environmental impact.
• Are you curious and eager to learn more.
• Do you get along easily with others.
• Are you passionate about diving.
• Do you have a positive outlook and does not put others down.
If you answered yes to most of the above, “You’ll have multiple opportunities to work with real student divers and qualified divers daily. This will give you hands-on experience and make finding work as a divemaster easier after certification.
Many of our instructor has certified hundreds of divers, and you will also benefit from years of experience, making your future life as a PADI professional so much easier.
